With the combined efforts of cell biologists, geneticists and clinicians, stem cell technology is rapidly developing. It is already at this point being used for certain health disorders. It is hoped that further stem cell research will offer solution to more serious diseases. We are praying for a cure for cancer. High dose chemotherapy and radiation can severely damage or destroy bone marrow while killing cancer cells. Patients lose their appetite. This weakens them immensely. Stem cell transplants can replace the stem cells destroyed by high dose cancer treatment and allow the bone marrow to produce healthy cells. This will aid the quick recovery of cancer patients.
