When I was three or five I would watch my dad while he works out in our backyard. He would lift different size dumbbell weights. Back then, fitness gyms were very few and extremely dirty. So one has to make do by lifting dumbbell weights. Also, no instructions are needed. Just lift and lift again until tired.

Dumbbell weights are old school but they are still used today. Actually, they are making a comeback. Kettle balls are so popular today. When I started working out, the fitness craze was at its peak. Everyone it seemed had a gym membership. Gyms are full of hi-tech looking machines that takes genius to find out how to use it. Now, a resurgence in old school training is making a comeback. Carry different heavy stuff and go through the full range of motion. Use a dumbbell, kettle ball, medicine ball or even a heavy chain.
